Free Guitar
Tips & Tabs by Bob Houlston
Instrumentation for: Guitar
Categories: Classical, Traditional, Popular
Catalog Size: Medium (50-100)
It's not a large tab site, but it's a very good one, designed for beginners on the guitar. Bob's site has one of
the most detailed, easy to read explanations I've seen on how to read guitar tab, and the site, overall, is a perfect
place to just pick up your guitar and start getting familiar with reading tab notation. The selection of songs
is good too, with everything from Air on the G String to
Music Box Waltz and House of the Rising Sun.
Other featurings include guitar maintenance tips, playing styles, and many other extras. Verified

Free Sheet Music
Instrumentation for: Piano
Categories: Popular, Classical, Christmas
Catalog Size: Medium (50-100)
This is a no frills web site with lots of Google ads. But if you look just beyond that, there's also a lot of free sheet music, offered in order of difficulty. The list starts with "First Pieces" which you barely need to know how to read sheet music to play. From there, you move up to the "Primer Level" and then Levels 1-4 and "Keyboard Classics." You'll know virtually every song on this site, which contains
lots of popular "traditional" tunes (Bridal March, Mexican Hat Dance, Old MacDonald), Christmas tunes (We Three Kings, Away in a Manger, Silent Night) and Classical tunes (Ode to Joy, Moonlight Sonata, Fur Elise). There's a lot here for beginning piano students. All sheet music is in PDF format and MIDI files are also provided. Added 02/21/2008.
Guitar Noise
Instrumentation for: Guitar
Categories: Pop & Rock
Catalog Size: Medium (50-100) with links to hundreds.
We found Guitar Noise to be quite a treat, especially for those just learning to play the instrument. Guitar Noise
features lessons using tablature for both easy and intermediate guitarists. Songs used in the lessons include a
lot of popular favorites such as Horse With No Name, Margaritaville, House
of the Rising Sun,
Imagine and many others. The Tab section
includes articles on how to read, play and write tab and links to other
web sites that feature tab exclusively. So while
this isn't a guitar tab site per se (it's more
of a lessons site), you'll find plenty of tabs
here plus some great learning material. A fun place to learn to play guitar. Updated
